Sessions for individuals and groups
Sessions are designed to work with cognitive processes to help build confidence; encourage self-development and improve overall well-being. I will work with clients to deconstruct negative thought patterns, which are often self-limiting, and can create unwanted behaviours that hinder our progress in day to day living. Erroneous thought patterns can impact our abilities to manage emotions in challenging situations - During sessions we will focus on building more authentic, positive mindsets which can positively influence attitudes when facing trials and challenges in life, and most certainly positively influence a wholes range of relationships in everyday living. Sessions are generally designed for the individual, however group work and holiday clubs sessions can be just as successful. In some ways working as a group can add benefits to the over all experience as can help with social anxieties and challenges in navigating the more complex group dynamics. This work can develop confidence and skills associated with working as a 'functional' group. Generally a block of 6 - 8 sessions is recommended. Ideally sessions will be most effective if attended on a regular basis, weekly if possible or at least bi-weekly in-order to keep the new information and learning fresh and current.
Who can benefit from SEDA Equine EFL/T programmes and courses?
Anyone, who is able to reflect on their own physical and emotional
experience. EFL Equine facilitated Learning/Therapy can help with many areas of our lives and is considered to be especially
helpful for those who want to develop personally and increase levels of self-awareness.
Participants very often have no experience of being around horses prior to coming to sessions. No previous experience is necessary at all. Most people take to working with the horses and very quickly become comfortable and familiar with the horse's individual characters.
Equine Assisted Learning/Therapy sessions
These sessions can be especially helpful for those who want to change elements of their behaviour, learn to regulate emotions, decrease anxieties, increase emotional awareness and support psychological wellness.
There is much research that demonstrates the effectiveness of EFT to help people work through various types of trauma and PTSD. EFL/T can also be very effective in helping with challenges associated with the neurodivergence conditions;-
- Dyslexia
- Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)
- Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
During these sessions we might focus on developing compassionate leadership skills and developing more effective ways of communicating.
Through working with the horses clients will work very much in the moment, occasionally that involves learning to help horses to work through and resolve tensions and anxieties in their bodies due to the environment; as a result client have the opportunity here to learn how to apply these same resolutions to their own experiences; translating these same skill to their own situations, helping to overcome personal challenges - increasing overall confidence and developing a sense of self-efficacy.
